is the Changing of the Guard, which takes place every day in the \ATXnt901 Palace forecourt\ATXnt0 . In their dazzling red uniforms the members of the Old Guard hand over their duties to the New Guard to the rhythm of martial music and shouted commands.
The Guard consists of three officers and 40 men when the Queen is in residence. When she is away the men are reduced to 31, but the spectacle remains highly memorable all the same.\par
